Using a computer to perform basic communication tasks such as e-mail presents a new set of problems for visually impaired users.

Accessibility features such as larger monitors, screen enlargement software; large letters for the keyboard and text-to-speech software can enhance your ability to use your computer and increase your sense of independence.

Affirmative Learning offers a customized, in-home computer support service for those with special accessibility needs.

Affirmative Learning can help people with low vision become more proficient at using their computer for such tasks as sending e-mails, instant messaging or surfing the Internet.    

Affirmative Learning will help you setup an existing computer for maximum accessibility.  This includes features such as:

  1. Accessibility Wizard Settings

  2. Screen magnifiers

  3. Text-to-speech software

  4. Special input devices (keyboards / mice / joysticks)

 If new equipment is needed, Affirmative Learning will provide help in identifying the best solution and installing the equipment.

Once your accessibility equipment is setup,  training is available on common applications:

  1. Using Accessibility equipment /software

  2. Using E-mail and Instant Messaging

  3. Surfing the Internet

Cost for the Initial 2 hour Consultation is $175

Individual Support sessions are $95 per hour

On Site Technical Support - $95 per hour

Once the equipment is installed and working, it needs to  be maintained. You may be faced with a device that no longer functions properly, a virus or an unexpected error. Affirmative Learning can help by providing the both telephone and on-site services in the following areas:


  1. Troubleshoot existing PCs and printers
  2. Troubleshoot network components
  3. Remove viruses
  4. Perform routing system maintenance
